Abstract
The study was conducted at the University of Babylon, College of Basic Education, and aims to examine the effectiveness of the Whitley structural model in the achievement of fifth-grade literary students in the subject of rhetoric and application and their attitude towards the subject. The researchers followed the experimental method with partial control because it is more appropriate for this type of research. The researchers chose one of the schools affiliated with the center of Babylon Governorate and chose two sections of the school, which are (A, B). The number of the research sample reached (52) students, with (26) students for the experimental group and (26) students for the control group. After completing the experiment and to identify the effectiveness of the model, the researchers conducted an achievement test that included (25) paragraphs. After confirming its validity, reliability, and the strength of discrimination and difficulty of the paragraphs, the researchers applied the test to the research sample. The researchers also prepared a questionnaire that included (30) paragraphs on knowledge and the attitude of the students towards the subject of rhetoric and application.
