Abstract
The current research aims to identify the reality of the special education teacher preparation program in the colleges of basic education in light of the standards of international academic accreditation bodies. The research selected the College of Basic Education, University of Babylon, as a pure sample and the governorate's schools that contain special education classes. The researcher prepared a special questionnaire to verify the availability of quality standards (third criterion). The most important results of the research were: 1- The special education teacher preparation program in the College of Basic Education / University of Babylon does not achieve the required level in applying the standards of international academic accreditation bodies for the third criterion. 2- The lack of cooperation between schools and colleges of basic education, which is subsequently reflected in the quality of education. The researcher recommended a number of recommendations to evaluate the special education teacher preparation program in the colleges of basic education in light of the standards of international academic accreditation bodies.
