العلاقات السياسية العراقية الجزائرية (1963-1968)
Abstract
Iraqi-Algerian relations witnessed significant development between 1963 and 1968, characterized by mutual support between the two countries in various fields through reciprocal visits at the official and popular levels, and supportive positions towards internal events in both countries. During this period, many political developments occurred in both Iraq and Algeria, most notably military coups, including the February 8, 1963 coup in Iraq, and the June 19, 1965 coup in Algeria. The research also clarified the positions of both countries on the coups, in addition to Algeria's support for Iraq in resolving the Kurdish issue through peaceful means within the national framework. Iraq's support for the unity of Algerian territories, and Iraq's support for Algeria against French aggression, and its support for Algeria in international forums, including its hosting of the Asian-African Conference, and Iraq's neutral stance in the Algerian-Moroccan conflict, among other positions. The importance of this research lies in clarifying the positions of each of Iraq on the political developments there. Algeria's position is one of the most important political developments in Iraq, and the significant changes that both countries witnessed, which left a significant impact on the region during this period.
