Abstract
The research aims to show how urban centers are distributed in Dhi Qar Governorate and to reveal the pattern of their spatial distribution and the general trend of that distribution using quantitative analysis methods, by using the neighborhood index or the neighborhood relationship, which is one of the statistical analysis methods used in studying point phenomena. The research concluded that the value of the neighborhood index for the distribution of urban centers in the study area reached (1), 170782) This indicates in the table for calculating the neighborhood index that the spatial distribution pattern of urban centers is the scattered random pattern. Among the other statistical methods used in the research is the standard distance, as the standard distance that represents the radius of the circle reached (45157 (98) meters, and this indicates the spread of urban centers over the entire area of the governorate due to the capacity of the circle’s area. The research also concluded that the general direction of this distribution is northwest-southeast.
