المكان الحقيقي في (روايات ورد بدر السالم)
Abstract
Place embodies a distinctive axis in the details of the narrative text, and is rooted in its consideration as a main component and an important source in the procedures of the narrative field. In its most precise concept, place constitutes the backbone that connects the parts of the novel to each other. Place acquires this importance based on its being a geographical space without which the narrative event cannot occur. Place enjoys an important functional role as an active component in the narrative text, taking forms that contain multiple meanings through its reflection on the other components of the narrative work, as place creates a relational bond with the components complementary to the network of narrative work. What must be clarified is that place in the narrative text is different from the place that exists on the ground, even if the writer deliberately names it with real names. That is, the narrative place is an imaginary verbal place created by language. This study came to investigate the theme of real place in the novel field of the Iraqi writer Ward Badr Al-Salem, and to monitor the writer's style of treatment of place, which varies and diversifies from one novel to another.
