التحليل الجغرافي للنشاط الاقتصادي وأثره على النمو السكاني في محافظة البصرة للفترة (2007 - 2017)
Abstract
Basra is one of the governorates that has an important position among the governorates of Iraq due to its economic characteristics. It is Iraq's only port and its main sea outlet and a major center for the production and export of oil first, and the cultivation of palm trees and the export of dates second. The potential that it is characterized by, both naturally and in terms of purchase, enables it to meet the local consumer need if those potentials are exploited to develop its economy by increasing the supply of goods and services, and in the event that the efforts of successive official local governments are combined to fill the gap of the shortage in the various productive sectors in the governorate that was created by the Iran-Iraq war and the events that it witnessed after 2003. The agricultural sector, with its plant and animal parts, has a great impact on attracting or dispersing population numbers. You find population centers in the marsh areas where fisheries are located, and their numbers are decreasing in the districts of Al-Faw and Abu Al-Khasib due to drought and the decline in palm cultivation.
