Abstract
The phenomena of marriage and divorce entail a set of effects that are of significant importance in population studies due to their impact on married and divorced couples in terms of distribution and spatial variation. Some effects affect marriage and divorce cases such as alimony, dowry, marital furniture, and proof of lineage, while others are specific to divorce such as compensation for arbitrary divorce, witnessing, and joining and dropping custody. The research studied the geographical distribution of the effects of marriage and divorce cases registered in Al-Zubair District for the period (2004-2011) in Al-Zubair District, and addressed two main axes: the first was the economic effects of marriage and divorce cases, while the second addressed the social effects of marriage and divorce cases.
