Abstract
There are many trends concerned with text analysis, and multiple schools of thought have been adopted. Some of them are interested in formal coherence, relying on grammatical and lexical linking tools, and this trend is represented by (Halliday and Raqiya Hassan). We believe that these tools are not sufficient to achieve textuality, and there must be linking tools concerned with the coherence of the text, the semantic consistency of its sentences, and their hierarchy within a larger textual structure behind which a larger meaning is hidden, representing the theme of the text. This coherence is achieved through a set of semantic relationships that link the parts of the text (minor semantics), and the larger textual structure is revealed using the textual rules approved by Van Dijk). We have presented a method for analyzing the text, especially logically. We believe that this method is sufficient for semiotic analysis, which in turn complements grammatical, lexical and pragmatic analysis in revealing textuality. We attempted to apply the method to poems from the collection (Extinguish Me with Your Fire) by the poet Yahya Al-Samawi, and the research came out with results that I consider valuable.
