الولادة وعلاقتها ببعض المتغيرات الاجتماعية: دراسة ميدانية اجتماعية للنساء المتزوجات في مدينة الديوانية
Abstract
Iraqis' positive attitudes toward childbearing have shifted somewhat as a result of the objective and subjective changes that society has experienced. Iraqis have become less inclined to have a large number of children per family, as the average family size has shrunk. This decline was due to several factors, including the use of family planning programs (contraceptive methods). The use of these methods has become widespread in most middle-class families, especially after women entered the workforce and took on multiple roles. Previously, they occupied a single role that was no more than that of housewife. However, things have changed, as hundreds of thousands of women have begun to occupy two intertwined social roles: that of housewife and that of employee, worker, or professional outside the home.
