Abstract

The grammatical text contains various and multiple signs that represent what the author wants from his text, and the ideas it expresses. The methods that study linguistic production are many and diverse, all of which aim to reach a comprehensive analysis of the text and its elements. The method of (text grammar) is one of the distinctive methods in analyzing linguistic texts and revealing their hidden meanings in a way that contributes to understanding their meanings and the connotations they contain, which is what made us adopt this method in this study. In addition, the chosen text here is a poetic text by the prominent poet (Ahmed Matar, whose poetic production is distinguished by the abundance of connotations and the seriousness of the topics it addresses, using linguistic signs to express those connotations, which makes his linguistic uses distinctive and influential and requires an analytical methodology that relies on objective research mechanisms that enable the recipient to reach the poet’s goal from those texts.
