Abstract
The research objective was to identify the topics included in the chapters of secondary school physics books in Iraqi schools and the new topics to be included in secondary school physics books in light of contemporary international standards. The current research was limited to secondary school physics books in Iraq studied by students for the 2013/2014 academic year. The researcher reviewed all secondary school physics books and identified the topics in their main and sub-chapters. He also identified the topics included in the physics books within contemporary international trends, based on studies, literature, conferences, seminars, the most prominent contemporary international standards, and the most prominent physics topics that many countries around the world have participated in as main topics for physics books.
