مشكلة السكن العشوائي في مدينة العمارة
Abstract
The problem of informal settlements is one of the most significant urban challenges facing developing countries. This is due to inadequate planning, coupled with high population growth rates, declining mortality rates, and increased rural-to-urban migration. These factors have led to millions of people settling in urban centers and their peripheries, areas that already suffer from a housing crisis. As a result, many people are forced to live in informal and unregulated settlements. In 2005, these informal settlements comprised 43% of the total population in these developing countries (a total of one billion people), while in Egypt, they accounted for 46% of the total urban population.
