Abstract
In recent times, there has been a proliferation of Arabic critical studies that examine the nature of ancient Arabic heritage using scientific methodologies. This has resulted in a diversity of methodological approaches to studying heritage, as well as varying critical perspectives on it and its underlying concepts. Some scholars embrace and value this heritage, while others reject and dismiss it. Indeed, the issue of heritage remains a central intellectual debate throughout the history of what is termed "modern Arabic literature," particularly during the Arab Renaissance. The problem of how to engage with heritage has been a major concern for Arab intellectuals, as any stance on it necessarily involves intellectual, religious, and social implications. Therefore, any proposed methodology for dealing with heritage must be grounded in a coherent vision that defines its purpose and direction; because the relationship with heritage is not merely an aesthetic or literary issue, but also a matter of national identity, intellectual discourse, and analytical methodology.
