العلاقة السببية بين قوة التحكم المعرفي والذكاء الناجح لدى طلبة الجامعة
Abstract
The research aimed to answer the following questions: Does strong cognitive control cause successful intelligence? Or does successful intelligence cause strong cognitive control? Or is the relationship between cognitive control and successful intelligence a reciprocal one, meaning that they influence each other? To achieve these research objectives, the researcher used Stevenson's 2002 scale, adapted by Khider (2014), and subjected it to statistical analysis using a sample of 400 male and female students. The item discrimination power and the correlation between each item and the total score were calculated. According to these procedures, all items were statistically significant at the 0.05 level. The psychometric properties of the scale were also determined. The researcher also used Sternberg's test, adapted by Ibrahim (2014), and calculated its validity and reliability. After administering the test twice, with a 14-day interval, to the sample of 400 students from Al-Qadisiyah University during the 2013-2014 academic year, using a cross-sectional design and Pearson's correlation coefficient, it became clear that the two variables are interrelated, and it is impossible to determine which one comes first or has a greater influence. The research concluded with recommendations and suggestions.
