تحليل الخصائص المورفومترية لحوض وادي الطويل
Abstract
The study of morphometric characteristics is important in geomorphological and hydrological studies, as it reveals the relationships between erosion processes and the resulting landforms. It is one of the modern approaches to studying river basins. Therefore, the drainage basin is the fundamental unit for conducting quantitative research on river basins and for measuring the physical characteristics of river systems or valleys. This represents a recent development in quantitative geomorphology, which relies on statistical and mathematical analysis to describe landforms. Morphometric studies help determine the shape of a basin, its stage of erosion, and the landforms that develop as a result of variations in erosion and deposition processes. Furthermore, these studies have practical applications in areas such as soil conservation, water resource management, and the planning of engineering projects.
