معاني المنطوق والمفهوم: دراسة تطبيقية في تفسير ابن عاشور (ت 1393هـ)
Abstract
This research focuses on the semantic terminology used in the field of Islamic jurisprudence as employed by Ibn 'Ashur in his Quranic commentary. A considerable number of semantic terms were developed by early scholars of Islamic jurisprudence to facilitate the understanding of legal rulings, and these terms were subsequently used by later scholars of jurisprudence, as well as by many commentators on the Quran. Ibn 'Ashur was one such commentator; he was not only a Quranic commentator but also a scholar of jurisprudence. His background in Islamic jurisprudence led him to utilize the semantic terminology of jurisprudence in his interpretation of the Quranic verses. We have found this to be a significant phenomenon in his commentary, and therefore we have dedicated this section to its discussion. Before illustrating the semantic terminology used by Ibn 'Ashur in his commentary, we must first provide an overview of the contributions of scholars of jurisprudence to the field of semantics, outlining the concepts and classifications they developed for these terms, in order to clarify the meaning and avoid any ambiguity.
