Abstract

The objective of this study was to identify the life skills of students with cognitive rigidity at the College of Arts, University of Qadisiyah. The research aimed to answer the following questions: What is the level of cognitive rigidity among students at the College of Arts, University of Qadisiyah? What is the level of life skills among students with cognitive rigidity at the College of Arts, University of Qadisiyah? To achieve the objectives of this study, the researcher used the Life Skills Scale developed by Wafi (2010), which consists of 33 items measuring three dimensions: communication skills, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and academic skills (11 items per dimension). For measuring cognitive rigidity, the researcher used the scale developed by Al-Ghamdi (2011), based on Rokeach's (1987) scale, translated by Salah Al-Din Abu Nahia and Rashed Abdul Aziz Musa, which consists of 40 items. The validity and reliability of both instruments were established.
