العوامل الخمسة لتطور الشخصية في مقياسين قصيرين
Abstract
Summary: In line with international research trends that have focused on developing short scales for the five-factor model of personality, this study aimed to adapt two internationally recognized short personality scales into Arabic and to verify their psychometric properties. The researcher selected the BFI and TIPI scales and used the Arabic version of the original NEO-PI-R as a criterion measure. After translating the scales and verifying the accuracy of the translation, the two scales were administered to a sample of 197 university students to assess their psychometric properties. The scales were subjected to item analysis, construct validity, and reliability analyses using various methods, which demonstrated their good quality. Based on these results, the researcher concluded that "the adapted BFI and TIPI scales possess suitable psychometric properties, enabling researchers interested in studying the five-factor model of personality to use them with confidence in many theoretical studies and for practical applications, without necessarily needing to refer to the original scale. Even in the latter case, these scales can be relied upon to some extent."
