واقع الإنتاج الزراعي في العراق والآفاق المستقبلية
Abstract
Food is an essential daily need for human beings; with bread, people live and thrive, while hunger and poverty lead to suffering and death. From the very beginning, humans have strived to secure food resources and ensure their availability. As the population grew and urbanization expanded, the demand for food increased, especially after agricultural production became insufficient to meet human needs, leading to hunger and crises. Therefore, understanding the current state of agricultural production, both globally and specifically in Iraq, and determining the actual food requirements, is crucial. This knowledge forms the basis for developing and improving agricultural practices, ultimately bridging the gap between food production and demand, and achieving food self-sufficiency and security—a goal that is now within reach.
