السياسة التركية تجاه سوريا في ضوء المتغيرات الداخلية والإقليمية 1946-1949
Abstract
There are political, strategic, and economic reasons that necessitate close relations between countries. Those who study Turkish policy towards Syria and its evolution understand that this is a crucial topic, given that the two countries share a border of over 1250 km. Furthermore, Turkey at that time possessed significant military capabilities and political influence in some Arab regions. Indeed, its policies after the death of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in 1938 necessitated a comprehensive examination of the situation in both Turkey and Syria. The subsequent deterioration of relations between the two countries, stemming from various developments, including the issue of the Alexandretta Sanjak, further underscores the importance of this topic. Therefore, in order to shed light on this policy, particularly given the current volatile situation in the region, this topic was chosen for analysis.
