أوفيليا عند الشيخ جعفر: «سلطة المرأة في شعره»
Abstract
There is no doubt that Arabic poetry, especially modern poetry, draws upon the cultural heritage, both Arabic and universal, and employs it artistically to convey its message and express its underlying themes. Hardly any collection of modern poetry is devoid of religious and mythological allusions and symbols, which are used to express contemporary ideas. Returning to these symbols and drawing inspiration from them is a way of returning to the original sources of human experience. Our poets have turned to Greek, Babylonian, Assyrian, and Egyptian mythology, as well as sacred texts, drawing from them and using them as an artistic means of expressing their thoughts and emotions. The Torah, the Bible, and the Quran have provided them with ready-made themes and narratives, which they use as a starting point to address the concepts and ideas they wish to explore, while also enriching the artistic structure of their poems.
