Abstract
Following our initial study of Al-Jahiz's letters, which focused on an important aspect of his poetry—namely, the symbolic significance of characters—and after achieving valuable results, this experience further inspired and motivated us to undertake another critical approach. This is especially true given that this great poet has not been studied from the angles and using the methods of analysis and interpretation that we employed. Furthermore, our current study revolves around "The Lexicon of Animals in His Poetry," a topic that consistently emerged in the literary corpus of this poet. The question that constantly arose during our research was: What circumstances led this poet to incorporate the dynamic world of nature, represented by animals of all kinds, into his poetic structure?
