Abstract
The aim of the research was to analyze biology books for the preparatory stage in light of biotechnology. The content analysis method was followed to achieve the research goal, where a standard for biotechnology was built consisting of eight fields, which are: (genetic biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, medical biotechnology, agricultural biotechnology, reproductive biotechnology, military biotechnology, other biotechnology, biotechnology and society). The number of analyzed pages was (664) pages. After completing the analysis and ensuring its validity and reliability, it was concluded that the total number of ideas related to biotechnology in all books amounted to (186) ideas. The largest percentage of these ideas was included in the biology book for the sixth scientific grade, as the number of ideas included in it amounted to (152) ideas, with a percentage of (81.7204%), followed by the biology book for the fifth scientific grade with (20) ideas, with a percentage of (10.7526%), and finally the biology book for the fourth scientific grade with (14) ideas, with a percentage of (7.5268%). The field of reproductive biotechnology also received the highest percentage of ideas (36.0215%), followed by the field of agricultural biotechnology (27.9569%), while the field of military biotechnology came in last place (1.6129%). In light of the research results, the researcher recommends paying greater attention to topics related to biotechnology and including it more in the curricula. He also urges teachers to follow up on everything related to such topics and suggests conducting studies complementary to the results of this research.
