Abstract
This research is an applied attempt of Geographic Information Systems (G.I.S) techniques in representing the changing geographical phenomena by using the capabilities of these programs in designing thematic maps that have a distinct and multiple visual perception, which can contribute to facilitating the initial and positive reading of the map. The research relied on representing the yellow corn crop in terms of area, production and productivity for different years in the governorates of southern Iraq, benefiting from the tools and methods provided by the Arc G.I.S program in producing a group of maps that can be used to make comparisons easily in order to reach the possibility of analyzing them easily.
