Abstract
The current research aims to know the effect of probing questions on the acquisition and retention of Arabic grammar concepts among female students of the Teacher Training Institute. To achieve the research objective, the researcher set the following two null hypotheses: 1. There is no statistically significant difference at a significance level of (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group students who study Arabic grammar using probing grammar questions and the average scores of the control group students who study Arabic according to the traditional method of acquiring Arabic grammar concepts. 2. There is no statistically significant difference at a significance level of (0.05) between the average scores of the students of the two research groups in retaining the material. The researcher chose the Teacher Training Institute in Dhi Qar Governorate - intentionally, and chose two branches from it: the first is the experimental group triangle, and the number of its students was 40 students, and the second has 40 students.
