Abstract
This research aims to evaluate the performance of Arabic language department instructors in colleges of education from the students' point of view. The research was limited to students of the Arabic language department in the College of Education at Maysan University for the academic year 2008-2009. The total research sample consisted of (60) male and female students in the Arabic language department. The researcher initially prepared a survey questionnaire to know the aspects of good performance of Arabic language department instructors. It included the following question: What are the aspects of good performance of Arabic language department instructors in? It was presented to a survey sample of 30 male and female students. After that, the researcher prepared the final questionnaire, which he formed according to the students’ answers. Its apparent validity was confirmed by submitting it to a group of experts and specialists in Arabic language teaching methods and educational psychology. Its reliability was determined by the retest method, as its reliability level reached 0.82. Then, it was presented to the original sample of 30 male and female students. After statistically processing the data, the researcher reached a set of results. In light of the results, the researchers presented a set of recommendations and proposals.
