Abstract
Iraq is the countries that suffer from exposure to food security and completely around the outside so that no strength to secure food self-sufficiency for the people to adopt entirely dependent on imports, has resulted from causes overlapping with each other, including repeated wars, economic blockade, which he suffered, which contributed to reduce the trend towards the best investment of natural resources to food security and ensure the means of production and not to keep up with modern and sophisticated of them, as well as government policy that ignored the importance of the agricultural sector and headed towards opening the borders to agricultural products to neighboring countries and try to join the World Trade Organization and then the final result is the exposure and dependency towards the outside all that, he carries the connotations of a political, economic and social. The research aims to get acquainted with the reality of food production in Iraq in order to find out what can be produced at home and imported from abroad, and highlight the implications for the reality of food security in Iraq, as well as contribute to the development of solutions and remedies to the problem of food security in Iraq could contribute to and mitigate the severity.
