Abstract
Linguistic competence in Sebawihs book (died in 180 a.h) The term linguistic competence is an old term which was introduced by Soan Chomsky in his book syntactic structure 1957. The research hers have applied its concept in the oldest organized grammatical document (Sebawihs book) for different reasons to show the originality of this concept for the Arab people which was included in an introduction an approach and three Sections. Introduction is to show the plan while the approach refers to the function of the concept of Linguistic competence. This is followed by the first section which show its origins according to the Linguistic. The second section focuses on the Linguistic competence while the last section focuses on its feature in the book.
