درجة حرارة تربة السهل الرسوبي والنهضة الغربية لمحافظة ذي قار وأثرها الزراعي
Abstract
Soil temperature is one of its physical properties, and it has a direct impact on determining the type of various biological processes that occur within the soil. It also affects the ability of gas exchange between the atmosphere and the soil, and largely determines the amount of moisture present in the soil, and the quantity and quality of decomposed organic residues in it. It also controls some of the course of chemical reactions that occur in the soil, which determines the amount of nutrients released and available to growing plants. This impact is directly and indirectly reflected on the rest of the physical and chemical properties of the soil. The research hypothesis confirms that there is a variation in the temperature of the soil in the alluvial plain and the western plateau of Dhi Qar Governorate. This variation is due to a set of intertwined natural and human factors. The research aims to discuss the above-mentioned hypothesis, while indicating the types of agricultural crops suitable for cultivation in the soil of the two different geographical environments.
