Abstract
The research seeks to analyze the information of some of Al-Idrisi’s old geographical maps and to link and evaluate the visual variables of those maps with what modern geography has achieved, and then work to increase the accuracy of the maps and their different sizes (x2, x4, x6, x8) through modern digital technology and specifically, the Vidmore Free Image Upscaler program, and revealing one of the aspects of cartographic creativity among Arab Muslim geographers by documenting and verifying Al-Idrisi’s effort In drawing maps using visual variables in cartography, In his maps, Al-Idrisi showed the lakes in shapes resembling an egg or a ball, but he added lines to them to differentiate them from the islands. As for the mountain ranges, Al-Idrisi indicated
