تعليم المرأة البغدادية (1878-1958)
Abstract
This research deals with the developments that occurred in the women’s education movement in Iraq during the Ottoman era and its development during the period of the royal era, specifically the education of Baghdadi women and the keenness of the people and society in general for women’s education and their acquisition of basic skills in science and knowledge. The research attempted to shed light as much as possible on the stages of this development and the spread of schools in Baghdad and its distribution between a relatively small number of government and private or private schools for non-Muslim religious sects and minorities. The research followed the historical, descriptive and analytical approach to the information derived from the sources used, in addition to employing a number of tables to give a clear picture of the subject. The research concluded that there is a fairly clear development movement. The process of educating Baghdadi women during the period under study reflected the growing interest in women’s culture and the need to advance their cultural reality.
