Abstract
The means of cohesion lead to a textual function that goes beyond the issue of linking at the apparent level, to link the grammatical, semantic, and rhetorical levels of the text to each other, and to contribute to building the semantic text base, and to reveal some of the discourse’s intentions. The text, but it is concerned with showing the overall meaning of the text by tracing the associative path of its minor and major semantic structures, as the text is generated through the relationships between its parts within its subject matter, which is the main idea in the text and the nucleus of its content on which its semantic base is based, thus achieving the spread and expansion of the text, and this major semantic structure It may extend to the external contexts of the text as part of the process of overall coherence of the discourse.
