Abstract
The scientific study of the concept of the state coincided with the emergence of political geography. However, this emergence is linked to the ancient roots of geography studies After geographical determinism dominated the study of the state in the first stage of the development of political geography. Geopolitical studies continued until the second half of the twentieth century linking human activity and the political system on the one hand.And the impact of the natural environment on the other hand, but starting from the fifties of the twentieth century, geographical studies began to focus on the study of the political region / state, and in this context, many approaches appeared seeking to develop political geography.
