توزيع المعادن السامة في مياه قناة الري سيبا وآثارها الصحية
Abstract
The changes that occurred in the hydrological system of the Shatt al-Arab stream led to significant changes in the sources of pollution and their levels. Therefore, the concentration of four toxic metals in the water along the longitudinal section of the Siba channel was measured (nickel, chromium, arsenic, and cadmium) and for the wet and dry seasons of 2022, and it became clear through analyzes of Mokhtaria, that the concentrations of dissolved toxic metals studied at the two measuring stations witnessed local and temporal variations, as their percentage increased during the wet season due to rain, which plays a major role in delivering large quantities of toxic metals to the aquatic environment through its role in precipitating airborne pollutants that increase Pollutants in the water from or from the atmosphere resulting from the emission of gases from the air, especially from the Iranian Abadan refinery, which is located on the opposite bank of the canal, or through electric generators, or through the drainage of the Karun River. For mixing with Shatt Al-Arab water, and for the two study seasons, in general, the concentration of the studied minerals was within the permissible limits for irrigation and agriculture. It is for fish only and is not suitable for drinking.
