Abstract
The Iranian-European relations were characterized by their passage of various developments, especially after the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979, as the importance of Iran to the European Union emerged in terms of its strategic and economic location, passing through the first Gulf War, the “Iraqi-Iranian War”, to the stage of the Iraqi invasion of the State of Kuwait in August of The year 1990 AD and its accompanying dangerous repercussions on the region, especially Iran’s position rejecting this invasion, in addition to the arrival of the reformist former Iranian President "Mohammed Hatami" to power in 1997 AD, and he is the author of the idea of dial"ogue of civilizations, as relations with Europe developed during his reign, but those Iranian relations _ Europe has set back because of the events of September 11, 2001, the US occupation of Afghanistan in 2001, and the exposure of the Iranian nuclear program to the public in 2002.
