Abstract
The occupational mobility refers to a change of occupation from one status to another and to shifts of social status of the individual that accompany this process. It helps to raise the social and economic status of individuals comparable to their own families. The study aims to investigate the occupational mobility of heads of families who immigrated to Zubair city and the reasons that lie behind the change of their occupation. Moreover, it is important to refer that the occupational mobility leads to changes in their occupational status. Moreover, techniques of professional management at work, the time period that an employee spends in a professional work and lack of job opportunities are, among others, the most reasons that lead to a geographical mobility. The findings have been shown that the occupational statuses of immigrants are better than those in their former residence.
