Evaluation of the efficiency of green spaces (public parks) in the city of Samawah for the year 2021

Abstract
The study aims to assess the reality of spatial distribution of green spaces (Public parks) in Samawah City, because these spaces are of environmental and recreational importance and reduce the density and urbanization. By reviewing the concept of green spaces and their importance and studying the reality of their distribution and efficiency, I have concluded that there is a significant deficit in the area of public parks, especially in popular neighborhoods such as the neighborhoods of nationalization and jihad. (0.98, 0.69 m2/person) and the old Kasbah neighborhood, which lacks public parks, and has a low outlet ratio, so the population has a low satisfaction rate. On this basis, the study proposes to compensate public parks with additional spaces, especially in new neighborhoods, while pursuing specific strategies to compensate for old neighborhoods such as the planting of sidewalks and facades of residential units and roofs.
