Abstract
The spy has an important and effective position in international law, as the spy enjoys a set of rights when performing his work tasks on enemy territory, because of the great danger that this work entails for his life as he is doing his work while he is among the ranks of the enemies of his state, and given the dangers and difficulties the spy faces, so he is keen International law has set many international rules and worked on organizing international conventions, which indicated the importance of the spy’s work and the extent of the legal protection provided by the law to him as he performs an important work for the benefit of his country by transmitting military, economic, political and information information about the enemy and presenting it to his country, which may help achieve victory. Therefore, in this research, we will try to explain the role and position of the spy in international law, as he performs a national duty and duty for the benefit of his state, as well as clarifying the legal responsibility arising from him.
