Abstract
The study area was determined in the sedimentary plain of Basra Governorate, and the study dealt with the surface water resources in it, especially the Tigris, Euphrates and Shatt Al-Arab rivers. through the soil. Through the results, the validity of the research hypothesis of categorizing irrigation water in the study area and in general as being unsuitable for agriculture and for irrigation purposes, except in the case of good soil management, taking into account good drainage, through the application of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) standard of the recommended system. It is one of the most accurate systems used in this field.
