Abstract
Charles de Gaulle grew up in a devout and conservative Catholic family, studied in religious schools run by the Jesuits, and was raised on national values, discipline and love of the soldier, and this reflected positively on his academic career first and his military career secondly, as he showed courage in the First World War, and was wounded three times in the war And his third wound in 1916 caused his capture by the Germans, during which he showed the strength of determination, determination and defense, and made five failed attempts to escape from captivity, and devoted most of his time to reading, analyzing events and lecturing his fellow prisoners, and turning those bitter years in captivity into picking achievements. Fruits after the end of the war and his return to France.
