Abstract
The research aims to study and analyze the density of passenger car traffic on the road (Al-Muthanna - Al-Qadisiyah Governorate) in order to identify the extent of the variation in the intensity of this movement and what are the reasons that led to that, considering that this movement is the measure by which it is possible to know the extent of the road’s efficiency in meeting The different needs of its users, by using the method of counting the traffic (1), which is one of the best ways through which it is possible to know the number of cars that pass on the road through the process of restricting the traffic and manually in two directions (entry and exit) (2) after choosing a clearly defined monitoring point as the monitoring was done. Two days a working day and a day off / Friday The study showed that the most important motives for the movement of passenger cars on this road are the business trip and the shopping trip, and the trip for business purposes ranked first in terms of its impact on the movement of cars, while the trip for shopping purposes came second, and the trip for entertainment, social and health purposes ranked third. In the density of the number of cars passing on a working day, in contrast to the holiday, in which the density of passenger car traffic decreases due to the difference in trips represented by social and leisure trips.
