Abstract
The importance of researching the role of educational counseling in the educational institution and limiting the risks of modern means of communication to students and informing those in charge of the educational institution about the obstacles that educational counselors face during the performance of their work in order to identify them and find appropriate solutions to remove them and prevent their emergence, as well as give a picture to the scientific departments of the Department of Sociology and Service Social and Psychology and Counseling Department in preparing social workers, this research can benefit parents to know the real risks of means of communication and control them, and The research aims to interest students for the intellectual, scientific and practical future of society. Our Iraqi society suffers from a crisis of change in values, and it appears more severe when The young generation, which is in a state of conflict, for abandoning the original values and replacing them with new values that keep pace with the times One of the most important conclusions reached by the research is that modern means of communication are a double-edged sword that both negatively and positively affect their users, depending on the extent to which the individual uses them. Among the most prominent dangers of modern means of communication are academic delay, in addition to leakage, escape, violence, addiction and other things that may cause Means of communication from mobile phones, the Internet, and satellite channels have negative effects on the family. Educational guidance plays an effective role in the educational and educational process, especially in reducing the risks of modern means of communication and activating the role of social institutions, starting with the family institution and its role in bearing responsibility towards its children by monitoring what they see it from programs broadcast through modern means of communication and media, passing through the educational institution and the religious institution and its role in working to educate students about the seriousness of much of the programs presented. Holding seminars and conferences to inform young people about the seriousness of the role of modern means of communication and to educate them. And to conduct specialized scientific studies and research, for the sake of putting the problem before the responsible authorities to reduce the problem and provide the best ways and means to address it.
