Abstract
The study aims to shed light on the city (AMAD) in the books of Al-Baladanyan (Yaqout Al-Hamwi Muhammad Bin Abdul-Moneim Al-Hamiri Al-Akhtarian), and search the information that they have handled about it, in connection with the historical material that they included in their books: The Glossary of Countries, and the Perfumed Kinds in the News of the Countries, as they are considered Part of the island’s core is the work of Mosul, which is located between the Tigris and Mosul, and they have given it several names in their books, and this made the researcher suggest one of the names, relying on the information he drew from these two books related to this matter, and it was opened during the era of Caliph Omar bin Al-Khattab (Radh) year (20 AH / 641AD), under the leadership Ayaz bin sheep, has the benefit of its people after the fighting, and some of them stipulated duties that must be done, and make every man of them dinars, or D of wheat.
