Abstract
The study focused on excretion one of the dangers resulting from some river geomorphological processes, specifically in the area specified at the Shatt al-Arab river course in southeastern Iraq At the border between Iraq and Iran, about an estimated distance of (91) km, in which it relied on the Taluk line (the deepest places in the river course) the study of the inclination of the direction of the “taluk line” along the Shatt al-Arab waterway, towards the Iraqi side Because of the erosion of the banks of the Shatt al-Arab stream from the Iraqi side and sedimentation on the Iranian side, As a result of a set of factors, the type and activity of geomorphological processes in the river stream were determined If this situation continues and no possible solutions are put to stop this March toward Iraqi territory, Iraq will lose The only water outlet of Shatt al Arab in the future.
