Abstract
The research dealt with the dangers of air pollution and the diseases resulting from it, especially respiratory diseases in the first and second Al-Sadr municipalities. The highest annual rate of methane gas concentration (CH4) was ppm in Al-Sidiyah station, which amounted to (1,948), while the highest annual rate of concentration of (So2ppm) in both stations of Al-Waziriyah and Al-Andalus Square reached (0.038), and the highest concentration of single gas came Carbon dioxide (Co) is a part per million for Al-Waziriya station, which amounted to (0.827), while nitrogen gas (No2) occurred at a similar rate in both Al-Saydiyah and Al-Waziriyah stations, which amounted to (0,031- 0, 032), while the suspended minutes reached the highest annual rate of their concentration. In the air, a value of (51) at the Andalus station, shared by the various means of transport of gases harmful to the environment, which numbered from (500-600) thousand means of transport in the research area.
