المحاصيل الزراعية الصناعية ودورها في التنمية الصناعية في محافظة المثنى
Abstract
The research aims to know the industrial agricultural crops for their important role in the development of the industry in the Governorate. The researcher uses the Analytical Approach and the Descriptive approach in the research. And the study shows that Al Muthanna Governorate possesses a large and arable area amounting to (5996098) dunams, representing (29%) of the total area of the Governorate amounting (20696000) dunams. (413325) dunams is invested representing (6.9%) from the arable area. There is an abundance of water resources in Al-Muthanna Governorate. The climate of this Governorate is suitable for the cultivation of industrial crops, and there is a sufficient labor force where the rural population constituted (53.56%) of the total population of the Governorate. This allows the scheme to expand the cultivation of the industrial crops in a large way, which is reflected positively in achieving industrial development if it is optimally invested. There was also clear neglect of many industrial crops and failure to develop plans and development programs for them, which made the farmers quit cultivating, and consequently, an exaggeration appeared in the type of crops grown in the governorate. The area planted with wheat and barley crops reached (272091) dunums, or (65.83%) of the area that was cultivated in the governorate. While the rest of the agricultural industrial crops combined occupied (0.09%). This is the result of the ancient spatial settlement of these two crops in the governorate. And the government receives their product and neglects the rest of the crops. Therefore, the research puts a strategy to address the imbalance and the possibility of starting the cultivation of important industrial crops such as sunflower, sesame, yellow corn, and tomatoes in order to achieve real industrial development.
