Abstract
How can we infer that some colloquial vocabulary in the agricultural field was in circulation in the early Islamic ages, specifically in the fourth century AH? The research attempts to shed light on some of these vocabulary items that are likely to have been in circulation since ancient times, and the interesting thing is that we felt that we, despite the passage of hundreds of years, are still circulating and are used by the peasants, specifically in the colloquialities of central and southern Iraq and in other places. Through one of the sources dealing with agriculture and plants, which is the book of the Nabataean cultivation by Ibn Wahshia. The first topic tried to look at the book from which the vocabulary was extracted and from the author of the book Ibn Wahshia Al-Kasdani, and the second topic dealt with vocabulary and its implications. It approached eighty items.
