تحليل الخصائص المورفومترية لشبكة أنهار حوض الغذاري في صحراء المثنى
Abstract
astronomically between two latitudes (31° 18'52.977" - 30° 55'56.113") north and two longitudes (44° 55'3.491" - 45° 11'6.771") to the east in Al-Muthanna, specifically in the Salman local. The research aims to study and analyze the morphometric characteristics of the river network in Al-Ghadari basin, which takes place within areas where the geological and topographic factors differ in its upper parts (upstream) in which the valley runs in contiguous areas or in its lower parts, downstream, which takes place within the low-lying flat region. The study has found that Al-Ghadari basin, despite its proximity to elongation, is characterized by water lines with many irregularities in its surroundings, which indicates the novelty of its geomorphological erosion cycle. The increase in the length of waterways through retrograde erosion, and the decrease in lateral erosion, which leads to an increase in the width of the basin. Thus, it reflects the increase in the area of the drainage basin at the expense of the length of the basin. The shape of the basin is closer to the triangular or pear shape. The number of river ranks in the basin reached (five) river ranks. Therefore, this is forming the valley network of the basin. The total number of tributaries in the basin reached (499) tributaries, while the total lengths of the basin’s streams reached all its valleys are (764.6 km). The Ghadhary Basin occupied the highest percentage, and the lowest percentage recorded in the Eastern Basin.
