Abstract

The study aims to shed light on the reality of random housing in the city of Diwaniyah, and study the health implications of the residents of that city and try to find appropriate and adequate solutions to address and reduce this phenomenon. As the random settlements varied in the residential neighborhoods in the city of Diwaniya, which numbered (19), which constituted the highest percentage in each of the (Euphrates, Soub al-Shamiyya and al-Hadara) neighborhoods, with a percentage of respectively (19.4%, 17%, 12.8%). Among the most important reasons for the emergence of these clusters is the factor of migration towards urban centers, rapid population growth, low income levels, and other reasons. These residential communities suffer from many diseases as a result of the contamination of these areas, and intestinal worms disease formed the largest percentage, reaching (18.2%) to occupy the first rank for the diseases spread within those communities. As for chickenpox disease, it ranked second with a percentage (13.6%). There are many development projects that provide health services in the city of Diwaniyah, according to the actual need of the population, and its total reached (27) development projects, but most of them were not implemented or under implementation
