Abstract
The study aims to invest in arable areas in the desert of Muthanna Governorate, which has a very large area, which is a desert area within the western plateau of Iraq, by cultivating palm trees using the tissue method, to benefit them economically and environmentally. With groundwater, it is planted with palm trees of good varieties that have a viable market regionally and internationally, which helps in diversifying sources of national income and making the economy emerge from being one-sided that relies on the export of petroleum only. The goal is also to improve the natural environment and mitigate the local climate of the region, especially as we face a dangerous phase of climate change represented by global warming.
